The success of Symtec and the technology behind our solutions wouldn’t be possible if not for our passionate staff. Comprised of professionals who make it their business to understand their respective industries inside and out, the Symtec team is responsible for the development of leading powersports, apparel, medical and industrial products.

These individuals embody our corporate values and work to ensure they are carried out in every aspect of our business. Their dedication drives employees and allows Symtec to deliver unmatched solutions to customers.

Riley Harlan | President & CEO

With nearly 20 years in corporate software development, Riley began looking for a change in a new company with potential to grow. In 2010, he found Symtec and it was just what he was looking for. After determining the great potential in an exciting industry, Riley purchased Symtec and began making necessary changes for improvement. Using his professional knowledge, he was able to build a high performance team with strong values and a great company culture. Symtec began creating innovate products using beneficial systems and approaches, all while strengthening customer relationships. Through Riley’s leadership, Symtec consistently delivers at a high level. Together the company builds and sells a vision, not just heated products. Outside of work, Riley is focused on spending time with his wife and 3 kids. He enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, cooking, and being outdoors either riding 4-wheelers or playing golf.

Scott Henry | Vice President of Sales

For the past 13 years, Scott was employed in the automotive industry building quality brands and working with vehicle builders around the nation. Always having a love for powersports, he decided to make the switch in industries and began working for Symtec as the Vice President of Sales. With a “motor that just doesn’t quit”, Scott is passionate about sales, building professional relationships and empowering employees to excel. That determination and tenacity supports Symtec in acquiring new business and revenue. Born in Omaha, NE, Scott moved to Minnesota in junior high and has been here ever since. When not at work, you can find Scott on one of the many lakes in Minnesota with his family or cheering on his kids at their sporting events. He also enjoys watching hockey, Husker football and sampling Minnesota’s great craft beers. In his world, the cup is always half-full with a million opportunities passed by daily – seek it, chase it and enjoy life!

Joe Bauer | General Manager

With over 20 years of professional experience in multiple aspects of power sports—from distributors to dealerships, sales and marketing to product development to service—Joe finds the General Manager role at Symtec to be a natural fit. His understanding of customers’ needs, being an avid rider himself, and his eye for continuous improvement help Symtec to focus on the right product solutions and efficient operations. When not working, Joe enjoys spending time with family and riding motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles. Joe also enjoys racing off-road Hare Scrambles and Enduros in which he has secured wins in both MN and WI.

Brian Robinson | Controller

After graduating with his undergraduate accounting degree, Brian went to work for a fortune 100 company in accounting and finance. He continued taking steps to further his career by taking each new opportunity as it came, founding a niche in managing people and production accounting. Brian then became a controller for a services business in the healthcare industry. He was able to round out his skill-set by becoming one of three members of the executive management team, allowing him to see his decisions shape the company and their finances for the better. When Brian was given the opportunity to jump back into the manufacturing industry, for a company that makes products that align with his personal life, he did so with both feet and is excited to lead the financial direction of Symtec. With a love for numbers, Brian uses his strong analytical skills and passion for uncovering problems to recommend solutions. When he’s not working, this Wisconsinite is either on or planning for his next outdoor adventure. Brian loves going to Wyoming and Montana as often as possible to hike or powder ski. If he’s not making the trek back from a weekend adventure on a Sunday, you’ll most likely find him curled up on the couch with his family and dog watching Vikings football. Brian has also been a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters for several years in different capacities. He loves to see smiles on the faces of his little brother or sister, as a small gesture can really go a long way.
